Chinese New Year Card

Happy New Year Card for Year of the Rooster (2005)! The background Rooster washi papers were bought in Tokyo. The Chinese "All lucky" phrase was stamped on vellum, embossed in gold, and mounted on top of the background washi strip on the left. The Kanji "Spring" was stamped and made into a bookmark kind of thing, then attached on the right side. Chinese people like bright red color for any kind of celebration (New Year, wedding, birthday) so I have humbly observed the tradition in this artwork :-)
